BOSTON or BUST!
Thursday: We escaped from the flea bag hotel, none to worse for the wear. These kids are getting tough. After eating at the Lake Effect Diner, we were on the road again, with full bellies.
Hopping on I-90 toll road across New York and into Massachusetts we were Boston bound. This is what my lap looks like the entire time we are traveling, maps, GPS (aka Gabby Garmin....we named her Gabby because she won't be quiet..but we have since silence poor Gab), on this trip I even had the laptop on my lap for a better part of the trip...keeping track of the HUB-UB going on from Pioneer Woman giving my blog a shout out.
We did, however, stop and let our kiddos partake in some real healthy food! Yikes! I had water, apples and granola bars from home...ungrateful whipper snappers.
I surfed the net on the laptop and found us a Residence Inn in Cambridge with a good sized room for a reasonable price. SCORE!
We hit some traffic on our way in to the Big City...not good timing 4:30.
Once we got checked in, we headed out again to find...what else...DINNER! Just around the corner from our hotel(on Broadway in Cambridge) we stumbled upon Legal Seafood. It's a Boston seafood chain.....it seemed a little upscale for our family at first, but once they sat us and gave us their spectacular kids menu we felt right at home!
Lobster on the kids menu...fabulous! Cece had her first lobster at the ripe old age of 7. Sheesh, I don't think I ate lobster until I was married. Our food was fabulous, and so was the service.
One thing we are always amazed at is how when a waiter sits a basket of bread down at the Johnson Families table, it is literally devoured before the poor person gets their arm pulled away from the basket...like piranhas! But then there are these people, (we observed 3 tables like this), that have there warm, salty rolls sitting in front of their faces ner to be touched. WHAT'S up with that??? Needless to say we asked for seconds and thirds on the rolls....and we gave the roll wasters the evil eye...how could you!
